I thought I'd post a little about what's been going on around The Ranch here. Oh, and as promised, I'll slap a few photos of some of our flower beds on here, too!
The Little Boy and I have been enjoying these lovely days by playing in our back yard. Last year in late summer, we fenced in a portion of our back yard. It was money well spent! TLB runs ALL OVER the yard and has full reign! He really enjoys it. And I have to say, I really enjoy it, too. I'm able to sit on the patio and read or relax while he plays. Of course, I don't completely take my eyes off him, but I'm able to do a few things while he plays, knowing he's safe in the fenced in yard.
Each year since we've moved in to The Ranch we've tried to add new plants or shrubs or something to our landscaping. It's never been fancy. But this year, we're kickin' it up a notch as Emeril would say. We plan to completely dig up and reshape and replant our front landscaping. It's gonna be a job, and I'm sure The Deuce and I will have a tiff or two while doing it. hahaha! But I know it will be so worth it in the end when our home looks beautiful!
We started our spring planting in the back yard since now, that's where we spend the majority of our time. The Deuce and I dug three new flower beds a few weekends ago. I'm pleased with them and can't wait to get all the flowers planted in them!
One bed that did get planted was the one I see through my kitchen window. It's a smaller bed, but I like where it is and the birds are always in that area. I planted New Guinea Impatients in there along with my fave . . . hosta.
Now, the frog statue isn't the cutest thing, but it has a special place in my heart. It sat on my grandparent's porch forever. I believe it once belonged to my aunt before she moved out west. I think this bed will be super pretty as everything grows bigger and bigger.
I wanted to post this pic of our front porch. I love my cute garden flag. I love the birdhouse The Deuce made for me. I love the pansies on the old milk can I love! I hope that our front porch and front door looks welcoming and inviting to guests. That's my goal. I want The Ranch here to welcome guests and make everyone feel like they're at home.
I love pansies!!
Hopefully we can start on the front landscaping soon. I'll post pics as that project comes along.
In other news . . . we've had septic and plumbing issues. Ugh. So that's been a pain in the patootie! But our family has been wonderful to jump right in and help us. We've stayed with The Deuce's parents and have had to do laundry and showers at our parent's houses, too. The Deuce's sisters have both made wonderful dinners for us since we're not able to wash dishes or do much cooking. I'm so thankful for wonderful family who have been right here to help us! We are blessed to have family here close and always ready to help or support one another. As much as I love everyone's cooking and appreciate their support, I pray this problem will be resolved SOON!
The Little Boy and I have had a new member to our 'at home gang.' Baby G is going to hang with us on my days off! As you might remember, Baby G is my brother and his wife's little guy. Monday was his first day here as his momma went back to work. She's a nurse at the hospital where I'm a nurse at.
It's going to be an adjustment for TLB. For one, I made the mistake of telling him that the baby swing and some other baby items I got down from the attic for Baby G used to be his. So he has tried numerous times to squeeze into the 'baby swing set' and all of a sudden wants to have a pacifier. As a baby, TLB never took to the passy, and I was totally good with that! Now, at two years old, he wants one! hahaha! I know it's all just because the baby has one. But I'm excited. It will be fun watching these two little guys grow together!
So much is going on and there's so much to post, but I won't bore you, my dear friends! I want you to come back and read my posts!
To all the wonderful mommies out there who might read this . . . Happy Mothers Day! What a blessing it is to be a mom and to have a wonderful Mommy like I do.
Happy Mothers Day, Mom! I love you!
In the OR, after five years of praying and believing . . . the moment I became a Mommy.
This kid cracks me up! I love being his Mommy!
Her children arise and call her blessed; her husband also, and he praises her; 'Many women do noble things, but you surpass them all.' Proverbs 31:28, 29
Yeah, I'm sure The Deuce would say that about me! hahaha! Happy Mothers Day!!!!!
