Growin' Up

Greetings, Love Bugs!  Sister Sass here wants to wish everyone the sweetest of Valentine's Days!  Love this lovely holiday!  I have two sweetie Valentines, The Deuce and Sweet Pea, and so I hope y'all have a Valentine to share your day with.

So, we're still suffering with the Cabin Fever here.  The fever spiked when Sweet Pea ended up with Strep Throat, all three of us got horrendous colds and then we all shared a nasty stomach bug.  Yuck!  So we've enjoyed a lot of days together here at the Ranch and here's a peek of what it's looked like . . .

We played hide and seek!

We played with Play-Dough!

Even The Deuce got in to it!

Per Sweet Pea's request, he wanted a combine out of Play-Dough.  This was my attempt.  Not bad, if I do say so myself!

Blurry, but even Elmo made an appearance!

And THIS was as close to Super Bowl Village as we got!

And then this happened . . . Sweet Pea's last night in his baby crib. (Hear me sobbing?)

So, I thought that I was ready for little Sweet Pea to be a big boy.  Yeah, I'm not.  HA!  Who was I kidding?  When I was on this kick that I was ready for him to be a big boy, I went hog wild and bought him bedding for a 'big boy bed' and my parents bought him all the coordinating accessories.  SuPeR cUtE sTuFf!

The Deuce and I had a plan . . . once SP was potty trained, we would buy a big boy bed and then I would redecorate his room.  Yeah, so the potty training isn't going so well, either.  Long story short, The Deuce's sister, Aunt T, gave us a toddler bed that she used for her youngest.  And, a few days later, The Deuce put it up in Sweet Pea's room.  That was too soon for me. . .Sweet Pea on the other hand, LoVeS his new bed!

We kept all his bumblebee stuff until we're ready for the big boy bed.  But if you ask me, this is a big boy bed.  The first night SP slept in it, I was the only one here to put him to bed.  The Deuce was at the fire department so yours truly got him ready for his big night!  Since I'm still not ready for him to grow up, I rock SP to sleep every night.  (Yeah, you more experienced moms can lecture me all you want!  I can't help it!)  We said our prayers, read a book, drank some milk and rocked till he went to sleep.  I put him in that toddler bed and sat beside it and just looked at my little boy.  I cried a little.  Okay . . . a lot.  But really, I just watched that sweet little boy sleep.  So peaceful.  He's growing up.  I am not the mother of a baby anymore . . . no, I'm the mother of a little boy.  And soon, he'll be potty trained, and then he'll be in a big boy bed, then he will be playing little league, starting kindergarten . . . it goes on and on.  *sigh*

But for now, we're having fun dancing . . .

Coloring . . .

Riding the tractor . . .

And spying blue jays on one of our bird feeders . . .

So, I think I'm gonna be okay . . . the mother of a little boy.  So far, we're on Week Three of the toddler bed and he doesn't realize he can just swing his legs over, climb out and come get me.  He just stays in his bed and yells, 'Moooooommmmmmmyyyyyyyy!' and the Little Boy's Mommy comes a-running!  And, yeah, that's just fine by me!

Love you all, dear, sweet friends!  Keep checking in on Sister Sass here!  I'll have more stories about the Little Boy, The Deuce and all the crazy happenings around here!
