Hello there, friends! I hope someone is still reading this blog! It's been a while since I've posted, but Sister Sass and the Little Boy have been busy bees here lately. I thought I should post about what's been happening around the Ranch.
We've started potty training . . . again. This time, the Little Boy initiated it. It started last week on Easter. We were at my aunt's house and she was taking her dog out for a potty break. The Little Boy thought that since the doggie was pottying outside, maybe he should give it a whirl. Now friends, don't judge me! I wouldn't normally let my child go potty outside, but Auntie lives way out in the country and I figured it wouldn't hurt for him to try. To my surprise, the Little Boy pee-pee'd outside and was super proud of himself. Not wanting to discourage the self-initiated potty training, I put some Buzz Lightyear under-roos on the kiddo and we were officially in P-T mode! One week in to it and he's doing great! I got tons of advice from friends and family on the underwear vs Pull-Ups and I've used a little of both. At night, he's been wearing the Pull-Ups and that's working for us, so I'm sticking with it. The Deuce is calculating the money we'll be saving by not buying a case of Pampers size fours every week! Cha-ching! hahaha!
While we're on the subject of the Little Boy, keep my sweet punkin in your prayers. He will have surgery Thursday. In his two years of life, this is his second surgery and um-teenth trip to our Capital City to the Kiddie Hospital to see a doctor. I'm not complaining . . . anything for my sweetie-pie and his well being. I would just appreciate the prayers.
Spring has sprung a little early this year! I'm lovin' it! I am not a huge fan of the ridiculously hot summer months, but I'm all about some temps in the 70s! The Little Boy is all about this beautiful weather, too! I'm itching to get outside and start playing in the dirt. Flowers, mulch, sitting on the patio with some tea in my hand, enjoying my flowers and mulch, all things I see in the very near future!
You know, March was last month (duh!) and it's one of my favorite months because it involves all things college basketball. Oh, and my wedding anniversary is on March 13. But the basketball! Oh the basketball! I live in the Land of Hoosier Hysteria! Basketball is what we're known for. Basketball is what we live for. And this March, my beloved Hoosiers were on fire! Now, there is something you have to know about me. I'm no bandwagon jumper on-er. I've been bleeding cream and crimson since February 28, 1979. I have cheered them on through thick and thin. Win and loss. Coaches I've loved (The General, Robert Montgomery Knight) and coaches I've loathed (Kelvin Sampson). I stayed true. And this year, all my years of pain were rewarded with a totally awesome season! Beating Kentucky in regular season was all that and then some! Woo-hoo! And our run for the Final Four was beyond amazing. No, we didn't make the Final Four, but I was so proud of the team! They were great. I am SO looking forward to next season! Yipee!
And yes, March 13 was our 8th wedding anniversary. Eight years as being Mrs. The Deuce. I am so blessed. He is a wonderful husband and an amazing father. We didn't really celebrate. Like many couples, I'm sure, we keep putting off a date night. *sigh* It's okay, though. I like hanging out with both my boys.
All and all, life is good, my dear, sweet friends! I'm still here and I still hope to blog more often. I hope you will forgive me if the posts are few and far between! I love to hear from y'all, so drop me a line and let me know you're still with ol' Sister Sass here!
Take care, my friends!
