I'm still kickin'

Hey there friends!  I'm so glad you came back to see what ol' Sister Sassafrass has been up to!  Hope I didn't loose any of you in this long month since I've posted!  Sorry 'bout that, I promise to do better!

This post I decided to write a little somethin' somethin' about The Little Boy, so let me warn you, it will probably be a bit boring to most of my friends out there.  But let's be real here, friends, aren't all my posts generally about The Little Boy?  teeheehee!  I saw this on another blog and I decided to do it myself as a post I can look back on in the future and remember when...

The Little Boy

As of today, you're two-and-a-half years old (give or take a few days).

Your favorite color is green.

You LOVE tractors, farms, animals, ANY sport, being outside, riding your bike and playing with your friends.

You also like to watch 'moonies' (movies), but you especially LOVE all the Toy Story movies.  You can even say a line from the movie before the character says it!

Strawberries, Goldfish crackers, cheese and yogurt sustain your life!  Those are your faves!

You love to sing and can sing several songs.  Jesus Loves Me, Jesus Loves the Little Children, Oh How I Love Jesus, Silent Night, You try to sing I Am A C-H-R-I-S-T-I-A-N and it's hilarious, You Are My Sunshine, and you also like country songs.  Funny!  You LOVE Dierks Bentley's song 5150 Somebody call the PoPo and sing it along with Luke Bryan's I Don't Want This Night To End.  Those last two are funny, but I don't know how I feel about him knowing those, really!

You can say your alphabet and count to ten.

You know your primary colors and  a lot of shapes.

You are going to be like your mamma here and be a talker!

You love to talk on the phone.  Doesn't matter who it is.

You already lie about your age!  Just this weekend, you told a waitress you were three.  Usually when someone asks your age, you say eight.  Not sure why!

You're obsessed with basketball and we pray you will get the height gene from your Owens cousins!  You wake up talking about basketball and go to bed talking about it.  You stand on the patio for hours (literally) and dribble (which sounds like 'double' when you say it) and shoot hoops.  I've seen you make six in a row in your Little Tykes hoop.

You still take a nap though the day and you are usually in bed around 9.  Too late for Mommy, but I think you're gonna take after Daddy in that area.

You showed a goat at the fair this year!  You loved it.  You informed us that next year, you're showing a pig, though.

You're potty trained!  Whoop whoop!  And, you think it's the best thing ever to pee-pee outside.  haha!

You now love Children's Church.  Even this week, you pushed me away at the door to your class and told me you were going to play with your friends now.  On the way home from church, you told us out of the blue that God made you.  As I looked at what your lesson was on this week, that was the point...God made me.  You were listening!  This mamma's heart swelled with pride and I cried just a little because you are already starting to build your relationship with Christ.  (Really!  I don't care that he's just two!)

I could go on and on about my sweet Little Boy, but I've said enough for one post.  I'm crying now, anyway and I'm having trouble seeing my screen!  My Little Boy is growing so fast.  It's like I blink and he's grown.

Little Boy...Mommy and Daddy love you SO much.  I am so thankful that we've been blessed such a sweet boy.  I pray that you will continue to be happy and healthy and that you will grow to love and serve the Lord.

Train a child in the way he should go, and when he is old he will not turn from it.  Proverbs 22:6

Thanks for suffering through this post with me, friends.  Just wanted a little place where I could write about my boy.  Keep checkin' the ol' blog here because I will be posting soon on some things my Mother-in-Law and I have cookin' up!  heeheehee!!!  Exciting!

Take care everyone!
