While I still have a few days in month of November here, I thought I'd talk about being thankful. I noticed on other blogs and especially on Facebook, many people would list day after day the thing they were thankful for. I didn't participate in this. Mostly because I'm not on Facebook or my blog (obviously) every single day. And really, on November 14 does anyone care that I'm thankful for Cottonelle Toilet Tissue and Lysol Wipes? Nope, and I didn't care when I read stuff like that on other people's statuses, either! Okay, yes I do. I'm just that nosy. But really, I'm of the opinion (my blog=my opinion) that we should be thankful year 'round. Not just in November. I try to have a grateful heart and a spirit of thankfulness about me. (Is that such a thing? Not sure, but I'm sticking with it.) Nevertheless, do you think I'm going to end this month or complete this post without my thankful list. Not a chance, my sweet little lamb! So let's see, there are how many days in November... Number One... just kidding! I'm doing mine a little different.
I'm thankful for my parents. Big R and Big K are the best parents (and grandparents) a child could ever dream of. To this day, at 33 years of age, I know without a doubt that my parents love me and would do anything they could for me and my family. My parents supported me in things even when they disagreed with what I was doing. I've had people tell me that my mom prayed like nobody's business for me during certain times of my life. Times that while they were tough for me, they were probably ten times worse on my parents. Mom and Dad made sure that my brother J and I had everything we needed and most generally, everything we wanted. I am SO thankful that they had us in church every Sunday morning, Sunday night and Wednesday night and every night of revivals and VBS. heeheehee Seriously, I am thankful that they are a wonderful example of Christian living and a perfect example of a loving couple. After 35+ years of marriage, they're still in love. So thankful.
I'm thankful for a wonderful church. It's awesome to be part of such an active church. I love that The Little Boy loves going to church and that he's learning!
I am thankful for $1 Large Diet Cokes in styrofoam cups from McDonalds.
I'm thankful I got to know all of my grandparents and learn from each and every one of them. They are all such a blessing to me. I aspire to be like my Dad's mom in the kitchen and home. My Gran is awesomesauce, people. I love them all.
I am thankful for Stow 'n Go in my Chrysler Town and Country. You can cram a lot of junk in that Stow 'n Go compartment and no one gotsta know 'bout it! I'm also thankful for the T&C. I love my minivan. Some people make fun of minivans, but not this girl. I've wanted one since my friend's mom, Karla, had one when I was in junior high. I wanted to be the 'soccer mom' in the minivan! Heck yeah, I'll haul TLB and all his friends around in the T&C, ba-bay! I'm a cool mom.
I'm thankful for God's promises. 'nuff said.
Ah yes, and I'm thankful for The Deuce. The Deuce. My sweetie pie. I joke about him being a tight wad, but between you and me (and keep this between us, friends) I'm kinda thankful for that. *gasp* I know, right? I should clarify. The Deuce is the CFO of The Ranch here and he keeps tabs on all the moo-lah. I hate math, numbers, saving money, etc. and he's the Money Nazi. But...I've never had to worry about much when it comes to paying stuff...and it's because of his 'thriftiness' shall we say. (Someone will probably have to remind me of all of this when I want a new Vera Bradley purse in a couple of weeks.) I also love that I can make The Deuce laugh. He's normally a quiet, serious kind of guy, but I can make him laugh. And he makes me laugh. A lot. I love that he supports me in whatever I want to do. Good or bad. He's a good Daddy to TLB. He's a good provider for our family. Love him.
And finally, The Little Boy. Words can not begin to describe how thankful I am for him. He is my world. My joy. My sunshine. He makes me laugh. He is so smart, it scares me. I love to hear him sing. I think he's going to be musical. He loves music. He is brave. This kiddo has been through a lot in his nearly three years, but he's still a happy, sweet kid. I love when he still wants to be held. I love when he says 'I love you' to me. I love that he loves to be outside. He's all boy! I'm so thankful that God blessed me with my sweet boy. My life is complete.
Oh...and yes! I'm thankful for you! Checking in on me! Reading the blog! Thank you!
